A Little Information about Mr. Wood

Hello! My name is Caleb Wood. I teach Earth Science, SPA, and STEM at OABCIG High School. I am originally from Tolono, IL; approximately 3500 people live there. I am excited to live and teach in the community of Ida Grove!

I graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Meteorology during Spring 2019 and a Master's of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T) with an emphasis in science education during the Spring 2020 semester. I have Iowa state licensure in both Earth Science and Basic Science.

Although the entire globe is full of miraculous wonders, I am particularly fond of weather and climate phenomena! I am a weather fanatic when it comes to severe weather, blizzards, and hurricanes. My passion to explain the natural world around us drives my classes forward and brings enthusiasm to my students.

Aside from teaching, I am an avid Chicago Cubs fan! Baseball has been my favorite sport to watch for a long time. I also am a big runner and regularly compete in community road races. Reading a good book is something I cherish as well.
